These are our hours over the christmas period. My appointments are limited before christmas so if you would like anything done please contact the studio asap.

How custom tattoos work

So I did a tattoo for one of my lovely regulars Sarah Jane this week. I really enjoyed doing it and I thought it was a great way to show how a custom design is put together.

So Sarah asked me to design a piece for her rat rupert and sent me a load of photos over. Obviously this photo jumped out as the one I had to use as reference.

Yes he really does have a party hat on 🙂

So after a few rough drafts I come to the design I thought worked and decided to paint this one up. Now not all designs I draw for tattoos get to this stage as most will be my final line drawings. However, I took a fancy to this piece and decided to paint it up as I had a bit of time spare.

 

Then it was just a case of actually tattooing it, which is always the best bit.

So thats how you go about getting a custom piece, its all about getting the correct reference, working with the customer and getting a one off piece.  If you would like to get a custom piece you need to contact the studio, then after we have discussed your design, collected your reference and taken a deposit and booked you in. We can get started on getting you a custom tattoo.

Tattoo Jam was a blast!

So last weekend we travelled to Doncaster to Tattoo Jam. It was a great show as always and got to catch up with some old friends and met some new ones. Got to start or carry on with some nice pieces.

X Factor came to Liverpool and Northern Soul Tattoo ended up getting involved somehow!

We got a phone call to the studio this morning from a lovely lady called Maureen. She asked if there was any chance we could fit her in for a little tattoo. So as I was looking for the diary she went on to tell me how she was at the X Factor auditions and she got her wrist signed by Gary Barlow. Now if you know me you know I am a bit of a TV geek as well as a bit of a Take That fan on the sly so I was fitting this tattoo in one way or an other.

So when Maureen arrived late on this afternoon, I had to carefully clean her wrist hoping I didnt rub the signature off totally. And then I got to work tattooing the signature while being videoed as it turned out that this was part of  a follow up piece as Maureen won a competition to meet Gary.  So you never know  yours truly might end up on X Factor, how funny would that be.

Me having some time off Shocker!

In a vain attempt to get some time off, getting tattooed by Julia Seizure and because of weddings and birthdays etc.  The studio will be closed a couple of days over the next few weeks – Fri 1st/Sat 2nd July and Thurs 7th/Fri 8th July. We will be open as normal all other days. I will remind everyone closer to the time!

If you would like any bookings around the time please drop by the studio ASAP as bookings are going fast due to the limited spaces in those weeks.

Patrick McFarlane guest spot at Northern Soul Tattoo in August

Multi award winning Patrick McFarlane  who works across Europe will be doing another guest spot at Northern Soul Tattoo again in August. He will be working 2nd – 5th August 2011 and we are now taking bookings for him. Check out his work, bookings will go fast so get yourself down to the studio and get booked in.
